After completing a Bachelor of Property, Bastiaan made his first footprint in the industry with a 24-unit housing development in 1995, followed by his first apartment project in 1999. As head of Gosling, he has developed some of Auckland’s most original and admired high-end residences and apartment buildings.

Bastiaan’s bold, forward-thinking approach combines a highly tuned aesthetic with impeccable execution. To maintain creative energy and achieve the highest standards, he focuses on only one or two developments each year.

Bastiaan collaborates with a small, trusted coterie of architects, engineers and contractors, with a focus on quality first, avoiding wasted resources wherever possible, and optimising value through inspired, often daring, design decisions.
